This is "The Birthday" by Marc Chagall. It was made in 1915 on a 32x40 cardboard with oil. In the picture it looks like there is a women who is preparing some sort of meal and is surprised with flowers and a unique looking kiss. This painting was inspired by Chagall's Wife, Bella. This was painted only a few weeks before he and is wife got married. I really like the cubist style brought to show surprise, happiness and love within the couple.
