David Hockney
David Hockney painted this piece called the East Yorkshire Landscape. This painting is actually a part of the East Yorkshire Landscape series. Hockney made this series in 2007 to celebrate his 70th birthday. Hockney first came known to this area when he was a teenager stoking corn during his summer breaks. This series consists of five 12ft paintings. All five paintings were completed within a year. I really do like that this picture is almost panoramic. I feel like I am actually in the woods and looking around. It is cartoonish but also realistic. I really do like this painting a lot.
