Jenny Saville Painting Response

The name of this painting is The Mother by Jenny Saville. She did this painting in 2011 and it was influenced by her experience as a mother. I see a mother who is exhausted and almost sleeping while pregnant. She is also has two infants in her hands as well. She is also naked. I like this painting because it shows the struggle of motherhood. Being a mother is not an easy task especially if you have more than one at the same time. Most importantly, it shows how strong women are through dealing with three children and manage to be sane.
