This is Eduardo Paolozzi's "Living in a Materialist World". This piece is at the Pallant House in Chichester, West Sussex Britain. In this artwork Eduardo is attempting to poke fun at the post-war consumer society. To make this he uses mixed media of newspaper and magazines in a surrealist fashion. I was attracted to this piece of artwork because I am a materialist type of person even though it is considered a negative trait. The bright ads of perfection displayed what materialism meant back in the day, being a shinier looking human with a house full of new gadgets to show to your neighbors. He really captures the happiness the ads show with all these new daily inventions we use even today.
