Eduardo Paolozzi-- Bash

Palolozzi's fascination with pop art seems to motivate many of the themes in his artwork. He created Bash in 1971 by taking fragments of newspapers, magazines, labels, and doodles to create a collage of his own vision of industrialized machinery and current pop culture. The use of tinted reds, greens, and yellows reminds me of the '70s which ties into the current trend when Palaolzzi created his work and of course, the Beatles. There are references to the former president JFK, NASA, the human anatomy, and if you look closely, you can see little American flags and even an alien. The piece as a whole is very uniform and pleasing to the eye. Good work on Palalozzi's part.
