Eduardo Paolozzi-Dr. Pepper

Dr. Pepper, 1948

The following collage was influenced by images from popular American Magazines. Eduardo Paolozzi started collecting images and pasting them into a scrapbook as a young kid and continue to do so as an adult. He created Dr. Pepper to represent the "exotic society", which represented healthy, happy people enjoying the freedom of live via items like cars, bikes, electronic cookers and telephones. Despite of his own poverty and of others, it's not surprising that Paolozzi was drawn to this style of living. Furthermore, this artwork caught my attention from the moment I saw it. Mainly because I have an interest in creating collages. But I like how I get a feel of what was popular at that time period via just looking at this image.
